I've kept my current dash, and that vin matches the title, can't read the door sticker, and havent done enough with cherokees to know where one of the hidden places were verify that it's correct. The build date that I found matches with what should be the model year, I just figured I would share what I learned as it may be vital for someone else to know.

Been driving the Cherokee quite a bit, had to replace the master cylinder, but otherwise it has been working well, Peugot trans included, for a junkyard rescue. Drove the eagle for almost a week, need to get it out again. Have a o2 sensor coming from rock auto for the Comanche, hopefully I can get it running better.

Selling 2 AMCs so I can concentrate on my full size Jeep pickups.

'82 Eagle wagon ($2000 with a bunch of spare parts. Runs, drives, but needs rear shock mounts and front axleshafts) Includes core '93 HO 4.0L with '91 XJ HO EFI harness and AW4/NP219. Currently 4.2L/727/NP229. 3.07 front axle (has 2.72 vacuum shift but no front axle shafts)

and

'87 Comanche short bed with roll bar, canopy, spare 4.0L bottom end ($2500 with all spare parts except 4.10 axles but it has a shutoff at idle problem at 200F degrees) spare doors

I bought a '72 Ford 3/4 ton Highboy temporarily (360, 4 speed 4x4 with LPG fuel) so I can haul stuff and move my new-to-me motorhome. Then the LPG system goes on either the motorhome or my 304 into the Honcho. (probably the motorhome temporarily till I get it to my cabin) then I'll sell it with the 9' flatbed I have.

Got the o2 sensor installed, will have to drive the Comanche now at some point when the roads get better. Have an urged to buy a wagoneer now for the 360. The waggy is to far gone to save, and I kind of want to put the 360 in a GM... for the fun of exciting the sbc everything crowd

I'm gonna have to sell my eagle. I don't have a garage and won't for a few years minimum. Something's fucked with the transmission and I've just fought too many battles with it. Lost the key too, so I'll have to slim jim the door. Luckily it doesn't require a key to start. Pretty bummed, but it is what it is.

Going to get a chrome grill for the comanche. Clutch master cylinder is leaking onto the fuse box on the xj now, so I'm back to driving the eagle. I've been tempted to try and stick a 360 in place of the 258, as I don't think the xj/mj platform would have enough room and the 4.0 does fairly well, on it's own.

Actually, it has room for everything but the bigger radiator needed to cool the V8 (even the guys who dump in an SBCs have overheating problems when offroading)

Sad day for me. Sold my eagle. Didn't have the time or experience to keep it going. Will keep this forum going though to infinity and beyond. Hopefully get another when I get settled more and buy a house, become a grown up and all that bullshit.

Sad to hear about that. I don't drive mine as much as i once did, so mine may be let go eventually, unless the xj wants to keep failing, it will have to stay around longer. The weather is finally getting nice in this area, so the Comanche may come out this weekend since temps are supposed to be in the low to mid 50s this saturday
