Just re-filled BlackBird first time since I started driving it (filled it after getting out of the shop). IF the speedometer is right, I got 11¼. No highway driving, had 205s on it. JUST replaced the rear ones with 215s & waiting till I get enough money to do the front ones. No idea what gears are in it. Wanna do a complete tune- up, have replaced the old nasty air filter & ran a can of SeaFoam through the tank. Plus that tank was probably about half old gas from when I took it to the Pigg Penn. Has a Holley 2 Bbl. instead of the original & I THINK it's had the 'neuter' bypass done.

My best guesstimate is 12 in town and 17 highway as the speedo cable gear isn't correct.

Road trip out to Connecticut and back, roughly 22 mpg, that was running 70 mph (4dr sedan sr4 trans).

I owned an 81 wagon with a 258, 4 speed and 2.35 gears and it got 13-15 mpg. When I got my 86 wagon with auto and 2.73's and it was bone stock, I would get 13 mpg no matter what. I put a 4.0l head, Comp Cams cam, Gronk carb and big cap upgrade and would get 19-21 on the highway. I added A/T tires, heavy front and rear bumbers, 3.08 gears and a roof rack and get 15-16. My 87 with a 5.3l Chevy engine with over twice the horsepower of the stock 6 and 35" tires, gets 15-16 mpg. I've gotten 18 a couple times, but it's hard to keep my foot out of it.

If I remember correctly, my sx/4 was around 20mpg on my trip from Washington to Colorado a couple years ago. Was doing 70-75mph most the trip.

Non-feedback carb, 4-speed manual, 2.73 gears

40-45 in an Eagle? That's unheard of! I can barely get that in my 1.3L Ford Festiva!!!!
