Last I checked I was getting 13mpg. A re-gear of the axles would help improve it, but that's a long way down the list of things to do.

I'm sure the bigger tires affect the Milage more. I'm still running the stock Carter, cleaned out now, so the Milage might improve

I haven't really paid attention, I'll do so this week and see what I get.

24 - 25 average, better than 30, at times, cruising at 55. I-6, minimal smog controls, 2.35 gearing, Automatic, Carter Carb on Ethanol.

Tire size, driver habits, any mods to the engine (ie, camshaft), weight of the vehicle & contents, terrain, etc - all those lovely variables. The terrain here I swear is all uphill with blind corners, constantly on & off the throttle, even on the highway. Add in the fact that my wagon, with all the upgrades, tools, recovery gear, camping gear, etc weighs in just under 4000lbs.... yeah, I need to regear, bad. lol

Most of it, I think, is due to the lack of some emissions stuff and tuning it as a pre-smogged 258. Actually, with E-10 you get a bit less mileage in exchange for added octane and excellent winter operation and Ethanol's cleaning ability. Keeping the Carter clean is very important.

Depends, in the winter, I've been getting roughly around 15 mpg average, but I make short trips, and let the car warm up in the am and at night, so that's a pretty good hit on mpg. In the warmer months or on a road trip, I've seen 23-25, (4 door sedan with a mc2100, auto trans, 2.35? gears, slightly larger than stock tire). With the SX/4, I have no idea what winter milage would be  , summertime, 24 is normal for day to day driving, highway, as long as I keep it around 60, it sips like a champ, I'd estimate roughly 28-30 (Non feed back Carter, 4 speed trans, 2.73 gears, slightly oversize tires.

Sounds like Shag has one of those high MPG SX/4's too. They do exist.
