I knew there was a reason why I don't go to the amc forum anymore. I posted the same question there as I did here about lighter aluminum calipers for my drag race spirit. asked about something cheaper than the $1200 willwood kits. I don't own a first gen AMX, or an sc rambler, jav, or one of the HIGH PROFILE amc's. so I get ridiculed and crap about "cheap" shit. what ever. same reason I don't go to the nest or most other amc stuff. I have my home here. the low budget, scrounge for what you can get guys (and gals) that I love here!!!

sorry, just a little bent because im not a high dollar amc owner, so im not worthy. guess that's why I like peoples dogs better than the people usually. :lmao:

I don't go there much anymore either. If its not a first gen AMX, Javelin, Machine or Scrambler, etc. you do not get a lot of answers. I learned the other day that the Ambo armrests and first gen Javelin's are the same but had a heck of a time finally getting an answer about where the screws were hidden.

It's sad that some take the hobby too seriously, reminds me much of the chevy crowd, (specifically the first gen camaro crowd, or the vette crowd, and even the chevelle crowd), just because you don't have the "cream of the crop" car, you're look down upon. Worst part is, most of them that are like that, bought there cars as they were, and have no blood invested. I said :fuuuckyou: to that crowd for that reason, and figured the amc clan would be a little tighter, being a smaller community. Up here in the NE it is like that, (a first gen amx owner at the cny amc show, in a concerned tone, specifically asked my friend with the Marlin, "where's the couple with the SX/4?"), but from what I've seen and heard elsewhere, this is not the case in all areas.

I stopped posting there as well - I don't care for snobs.

I'm lucky that my AMC club here in Calgary isn't like that. some of the members have some of the more rare (and some hot) AMC's, and here's me with my lowly eagle, and I'm just as welcome as the rest.

yea, that same thing is one reason why I started to favour the nest so heavily. but aside from here I see more that would rather preserve what little value their amc has and keep it bone stock and shudder and erupt when some mentions taking a saw or torch to it. it was nice to have a little home for the small body amc guys, even tho I don't post too much anymore :?

What AMC forum is this on? The light blue one or the dark blue one? I've always had good luck over at amccars.net.
