That movie was called the car, and it was satan's car. I'd recognize that one anywhere. Had the most annoying horn. James Brolin was in it, I think...

But I have no idea what it really is.

I found it. Took some digging. Did Google Images & the searched "What kind of car in the movie The Car". Rafe was close, but not quite there.
