since we are getting new members who are not familiar with this forum setup i figured i would create a write up on how to add pictures to a post.

if you have your pictures on a photo sharing service, or you are posting one off of the internet heres how to post the picture.

find the picture you want to use. after you find the picture, you want to get the url for the picture. for me, if I right click the picture, and click copy, i can get the URL. (this could be diffrent for you, Ive also noticed this does not work on some older systems). You then want to then click the box above the text box you use for typing your post that says image. Image you will get two boxes that show up like this [img}{/img]. You then want to put the url in like so: [img}http://www.cartype.com/pics/203/full/amc_logo_2.jpg{/img] it should show up like this:

now for adding pictures from your computer.

you will want to find the upload attachment at the lower end of the attachment page. you are looking for something like this:

click browse and you will end up with this:

find your file and then click add this attachment. it will show up at the bottom of the post. if you click place inline it will show up where your cursor is at when you click place inline at the bottom of the post text box.

hopefully this helps with posting pictures. sorry if my post isn't that detailed.

We can also add images via a photo host, such as photobucket, just copy and paste the image url to a post, and there the image be.

Photobucket gives you several links if you use it for hosting and the one on the very bottom I believe has the [img] code already built into the link. So you just click on on that one and copy paste it in.

This photo shows you how to get the direct link like the OP was saying...then you'd have to use the IMG button above the text box, but you can see the img code link at the bottom.

I store all my stuff at PB in a private album and use the bottom tag with the IMG stuff already in it. PB has come a long way to make it really easy to use.
