Just found this site, looks awsome and I hope you guy's don't mind helping a guy out. I've built alot of jeeps but this eagle is already whipping me.... Here's a pic of it when I picked it up, it's a 86,000 mile car but it needs alot of attention under the plastic..

Welcome Jonb8. We will try to lend a hand. Yes, there can be some nasty surprises under the Krayton. What is the underbody like?

Floors are great but rockers and front drivers unibody is bad at the bracket that supports the front crossmember thingy...LOL My plan for this car is to remove the front rails and replace them with cherokee rails/partial firewall/partial floor. Then use box tubing to tie the unibody together, then cage to support. The cherokee 8.25 rear axle and lift is in but was surprised that with the same 5 in lift I use on the cherokee's I still could only get 31's on the eagle. I'll get pics today after I get some batteries for my camera.

Sub frame tie ins are a good idea.

Welcome to Evo! I think I've seen the car before. Were you the one who was going to attach a Cherokee frame to an eagle?

I'm gonna try, I've done buggies, racecars, and trail rigs but this will be my first attempt at redesigning a unibody into a straight axle car that AMC should have built... I've researched this build for over a year and finally have all the parts and the car I wanted so hear we go... I am still bummed out on how much lift I didn't get out of the s10 bastard pack lift on the rear..I didn't want to have to cut the car up alot to get 33's under it.

Nice looking car! The black Eagles are sexy! Those are some interesting rims...the kind if look like the sport alloys, but not quite.

Welcome to Evo! One thought on your comment, about the 5" XJ lift not allowing more than 31s, I believe Eagles stock sit lower than XJs stock. So a 5" lift on a XJ & a 5" lift on an Eagle, Eagle's still going to sit lower than the XJ. I had a 6" custom long arm on my wagon, & it cleared 31s well.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to see how your project turns out. Image
