ya, you have a GM style HEI distributor on there, with coil on cap. they are great when set up correctly, but finiky sometimes. needs full keyed 12volts going to it, and if you ever take the coil off the cap, theres a ground strap that MUST be attached and grounded well. but i see you have it covered now.

ive got the shift tore apart on mine, found out the cable that lifts the parking prawl is about to tear off, so need to fix that, or put a bandaid on it. however, the Comanche is performing flawlessly for being a renix 4.0.

Aside from corroded connectors that are cured with contact spray and cleaning, I haven't had many Renix issues. At 220,000 miles corrosion in the dist cap caused my ignition box to crossfire and blow itself out. 4.0 and 2.5 are the same box.

found out the eagle that I have been robing parts from was removed from the junkyard. looks like mine will be making a transformation into part xj and whatever else I can make work on it. sadly I will eventually have to retire it.

Got the SX/4 out of the garage for the first time this year, vac motor on the axle developed a leak over its winter break, pissed out quite the puddle on start up. So I robbed the one off the 84, since I will be swapping to newer axles (plus better GR) in that one anyways. Drove it for the past couple of days, no probs :blazin: .

Back to being a project. Next spare 4.0L I get will go in it if I can find a helper to assemble it. (Like my cars, I'm getting too tired in my older age)

My transmission is doing weird things when towing shit. I've decided to retire the eagle as my camping/motorbiking rig and just keep it around because i love it but god damn it's a pain in the ass.

Transmission was shuddering sometimes or when i'd be climbing a hill it'd try and down shift and then shift right into neutral or something. I filled it up with a bunch of transmission fluid and haven't driven it but I looked under the car yesterday and there was a puddle.

Maybe I'll change the oil pan to the one recommended on here. http://www.jegs.com/i/TCI/890/127900/10002/-1

Or if I've done permanent damage to it I guess replace or get the 727 one.

Does it feel like an abnormal vibration is going on that matches engine RPM? That would be the torque converter headed south
