I love those dogs. So unaware of their size... they think they are little chihuaha sized things.

Well That was my eagle I did the rear brakes on about a week ago....all was well till today...driving down the road and I heard an odd sound....after a mile of it and thinking I thought did I tighen up my lug nuts!?!?!. So I pulled over right away and checked....nope! I snuged them up but that was it. So out came the speed wrench. They loosend up just a little bit but still....got lucky there I guess.

I got my eagle back together again and went to start - nothing - battery dead. Charged the battery cranked it about 7 seconds battery dead and didn't start. Put some starting fluid in there and nothing happened.

I started it about 4 months ago and it took a while of cranking to get it started but the battery didn't die. I should've kept starting it but this thing was unstoppable for a period of time so I figured i'd be ok.

Do I keep cranking? Is the fuel bad? Any pro tips for a dumbass like me?

if your battery has sat over the winter, and froze, (happens if the battery is dead when temps get to freezing and below) your battery is bad. you need to have some good cranking speed, so you have enough voltage to the ignition system to fire. if it was cranking slowly (im going to guess as you said only 7 seconds) it may not have had enough voltage. try jump starting, or put a LOW amp charger (10 amps or less) over night. i personally would get it to cranking at normal speed first. after sitting for a few months, it will take some time to get fuel to the carburetor. IF THE FLOAT DIDNT STICK UP/CLOSED!!! a few taps from the handle end of a screwdriver usualy will pop a stuck float loose.

Thanks, I've had it in a garage, and I live in portland so it doesn't get too cold out here, but I have been charging the battery and I've got enough juice in it to get some good cranking. I put an inline spark tester on the spark plug and am not getting any spark. I have the nutter bypass and what might be a gm hei distributor. Not sure where to go from here.

Here's kind of a video I made last night which kind of shows it. It has a blue cap but that's all I know right now -

Found the problem

The battery-in wire going to the distributor is just a spade connector and got disconnected.
