Is this an Iron Duke? If not does it swap into an Eagle?

No, it's not. It will fit an '83 up Eagle with 4 cyl with a few mods. Earlier Eagle ones were Iron Dukes and the bell was SBC Chevy pattern (I made that mistake once).

The Wrangler also tips the tcase front output up closer to the floor. My son found out the hard way they AX-5 in them won't fit his Comanche easily. He had to change the bell and drill the tcase flange to rotate it down to clear teh floor then the slave blew out right as he was going to leave for work in Winnipeg.

Thanks for the info on steering me away from the 2.5 I'm considering just putting another 4.2 in there though. Mike from 4x4Land in Topeka, KS said he's got a good one. I'm waiting to hear back from him on it's condition and what he wants for it. The swap would be much easier and quicker and save me shop fees!

Make sure it's an '80+ so that it has the axle bosses on the block.
