The axle should not move at all. As it is bolted to the motor. So unless the motor is moving with the axle. Than your mounts are loose and need to be tightened. If the motor is moving than your motor mounts are bad, or loose.

Alright, long time no post. Still always had the issue and i did try to make sure the bolts were tight for the mounts. They could be seized in spot or already as tight as they can get.

But the other week i think i finally cracked the issue. I think its just popping out of 4wd. I had had a bad winter storm that covered the roads deep and every time I heard the tcase thump I definitely lost power going to the front wheels and would start kicking out the tail end and spinning the rear wheels. So i would stop, flip the 4x4 slide back and forth and be on my way for another 20 seconds before repeating the process.

Vac gauge shows good vacuum so I guess just replace the lines and diaphragm on the tcase?

My sx/4 does the same thing, under load for an extended period of time it will pop out of 4wd. I've contemplated installing an additional vacuum canister to fix this issue. Yours may need a new actuator if it pops out that quickly though.
