Howdy all,

Looks like I might be back in business this weekend, Eagle wise. I'm pretty excited.

Anyways, the car is a well taken care of 1986 Eagle Limited. Has all the trimmings, as well as wear and tear. Looks like it was well maintained, but it still shows it's age.

BUT it does have a skid plate in the front, the sports package, towing, etc. I haven't seen the engine yet (will in the next few days) or had it running but from what I've seen there shouldn't be an issue.

So, lets say if I bought it for a solid price and I had some cash left over, what should I do first for upgrades?

My thoughts are to start here :

- HEI distributor (best bang for the buck upgrade) from Skip White. Really boosted my old Eagle's performance
- Carb swap - change to the MC2100 or a mechanical Carter
- Shocks / Struts
- Fix any other issues, possibly rear pinion bearing in the rear axle (or swap axle out)
- Change the transfer case - currently has the NP128 - there are a load of Eagles there with 119's in them, might be 1 with the preferred 129.
- Valve Cover - debating changing this if it's plastic, but I might save my dubloons and do a head swap (possibly crank swap)
- Current car has leather seats. There's 1 sitting there with the most badass of early 1980 cloth seats I might swap out for. There's also a S/X4 with the seats still in it I might check out.
- Interior needs some tidying up, a headliner, some plastics replaced.

There's a few old Eagles there that I might be able to glean parts off of as well. What parts should I be on the lookout for? I might drag away a whole car if there's 1 in good enough condition to.

What else should I look at doing for performance enhancing goodness?

This is probably the first thing I would do.

Hence the MC2100 or mechanical Carter (have one in my garage freshly rebuilt).

Good point though.
