Weather is getting warm and I've had a chance to look it over a couple times..

The front of the 258 block has 2 large holes in it, There is at least a gash in the oil pan. Only surface rust that I've been able to find. Passenger front fender has been dented slightly and has changed the way that the front lines up. All doors open like it just came off the lot. Has a frame mount hitch. Rear defrost and a wiper arm in one piece. Pod has been cut and an aftermarket radio installed Hood release is broken at the mount, not the pull.
Bumper end caps and flares are in great shape. Has AC but not known if it works..
This nicer wagon is what it appears will be getting the 4.0 and AW4 from the Cherokee. Not sure if I want to place the 231 in it also or keep the 119. I guess that depends if the 119 is working. Will load many many pictures of everything I can probably this weekend. This is not going to be a complete restore.

:eagle: Well until later...

If the AW4 is 23 spline you will still need a 1" spacer ring to bolt up the NP119. A 242 would be better in an Eagle than a 231 because it's a part time case, unless you plan serious 4 wheeling.

you need to post some pics. I have seen it first hand, and I know others would want to see it. I am alttle jealous, It is the perfect project. I would pull the head have it checked and rebuilt, and find a old good block. If you could find a good block, you could have that wagon running in no time.

I just sold my old 258 engine to someone on the KCJeepClub forum. I think they were only interested in the crank so maybe you could take the block from him...

If you're interested in a block I just tore my engine down to part it out. Only 90k on the engine. Seems to be in amazing shape, ran until my timing chain stretched too much and jumped.

Message me if you are.

Also want to be sure to note that it has a hitch mounted to the bumper and then braces mounted to the frame point where the bumper connects to the frame..
