so, tonight, I decided to destroy some old tires that needed replacing. what better way than this!!!

this is my 79 amc spirit with healthy 360, 904, ford 8.8 3.73 geared rear. stripped down to bare minimum. lots of other stuff done. just thought it would be fun. boy was it!!! minimal body damage surprisingly.

you just have to watch out for new camaros parked in the street. :lmao: had a fried doing a burnout in a caprice wagon, car lost control in the process of screwing around and hit a new Camaro. keep that spirit out there roasting tires, unless a kojak with a Kodak is in the area.

while doing the burnout on street tires, I was aware of how slick they get. I didn't let off of my linelock! front tires were held hard! street tires get nasty greasy when doing something like that. with my slicks on, I could let off, and go in a strait line. street tires, they get greasy slick. you can hear when I hit 2nd gear, and its working, then the tires let go and get greasy, and the rev's pick up, and I hit 3rd gear. by my tach and gearing, I was spinning both tires about 95 mph when the tire let go. engine temp was just barely getting to 195* when it blew.

o ya, and living 50 miles out of town helps with being able to do this type of shit!!! the park across from me (in the back ground) is a crack park. so they don't like to call the cops. my local neighbors love my car because it pisses off the crackheads in the crack park. so its all good!!!

o shagg.. guaranteed!!! this wasn't a one tire fire!!! this car was BOTH tires. there was NO wind, so the tire smoke just HUNG here for about an hour!!!! it was great! other than the minerly bashed in section between the bumper and wheel well and a few spots where the tire tread smacked between the fender and window and knocked a little paint off. its all good tho!!! o, and 2 holes made in the highway!!! hehe. I know nothing of anything about the 2 burnout marks/black strips in the highway infront of my house....

so, yesterday was another "club race night" at the drag strip. I was the longest lasting "amc racing" club member. I made it to 3rd round. got shut out there. I won my first 2 rounds of racing lastnight, and also broke the 100 mph barrier I had. so now I got a goal of 105 mph in the 1/4 mile. got home at 1:30 this morning to a kick ass thunder storm with hail and all! so it was a kickass day. started out bad juju as I was unloading off the trailer, i had a float in my carb decide to not float. got a hole in it outta nowhere and was flooding the car out. found another racer who had a soldering kit, so we made the hole bigger, drained it, and soldered it up. it worked for the night. new floats for the edelbrock coming!!! first time i even won a single round! ran consistently in the 13.70-13.65 area. picked up a little as the night went on and air got better.
