rear mount turbos are not very efficient. a turbo is meant to be mounted as close to the head as possible. the heat expanding the gasses is needed for spooling up. those rear turbos would take FOREVER to spool up. and I hope he don't hit a water puddle. but it looks cool. :cheers:

You don't want them to get too hot though too. So getting them out of the engine bay keeps them cool. They are still getting the hot air from the exhaust. The lag is worse though. But apparently they are all the rage on a Festiva...the car is so small the lag is very minimal plus the engine bay is soo tight already that getting the turbo out of there helps with space issues!

you want all the exhaust heat you can get with a turbo. you will melt pistons down from egt's long before you destroy a GOOD turbo. that expanding exhaust gas is what helps to spool it up. its expanding still. by the time the exhaust is at the tail pipe, of any vehicle, its already expanded, and then all your doing is just getting the back pressure to spin it.
