time for me to hijack another thread. as far as rust issues on these things, what do you want to check over carefully, and is there anything else that you want to look over?

The unibody rails are prob the most important thing to look over cause they run the entire length of the truck. floors and rockers are next on the list. mine had the floor repaired at one point and I figure after winter I'm gonna pull the interior for paint so I'll just burn a new pan in and paint the floor while I hit the door jams

got up early this morning to figure out why the 4wd isn't working on the comanche and thought "gonna just lock the front axle and just eliminate that." I pulled the fork housing to find this

looks like the vacuum works as it should, or maybe even better (never seen one broke like that). Ended up having to clean out the cover and reinstall it until I can get out to the salvage yard and just get a replacement unit.

You can slide the axle engaged and put a hose clamp around the axle shaft behind the collar to keep it from sliding back, or so I was told.

a friend of mine offered to weld it locked like he did with his 90 MJ but after we threw that idea away after finding out his 87 parts truck had a good shift motor. I also grabbed the interior pillar lights and complete intake and exhaust set up for the throttle body.

The truck has been running like a top except for the annoying high idle (when cold it idles around 800 rpm but as the truck warms up it jumps to around 2k). This weekend I am making plains on heading back over to the parts MJ to take the axles and rear springs for my 80 2 door and some more renix goodie to keep on hand in case I need them

also added my vanity front plate

shitty cell phone picture, but it reads under the AMC "We back them better because we build them better"

Just got through the winter season doing a few cheap and little things to the truck.

installed an aluminum push bar to the front

I also built a rear bumper for the truck

Right now there is a hydraulic issue going on with the clutch and I am slowly gathering parts to paint it in a few months.
