chevys weren't that bad... ... for a few years at least, they've had some good cars over the years, but then just about every American manufacturer has. I just wish I could say that about the crap they are building today. by the way, shagg you forgot to post a picture of the tin roof rusted color chip.

Damnit, I'm no longer employed by a GM dealer, so I no longer have access to that info, lol. We'll all have to just wait and see what tin roof rusted poly looks like, :queer: .

yeah, they will slap a 7 slot grille on it and call it a Jeep. I kind of expected that is what they would do after saying they were going to keep the Patriot platform. I should know better by now.

:wtf: can someone please buy Chrysler, or buy the jeep nameplate before fiat completely destroys it. i guess i will be driving mostly amc designed jeeps that Chrysler hasn't really touched, along with a few Kaiser jeeps.

I love it. This is a milestone in the history of the AMC Eagle. Ten years ago you could buy a Jeep Rubicon that performed so well that it actually made you question putting thousands of dollars into an AMC Eagle worth about 3K when you're done. Ten years from now every "Jeep" product will have 12" tall tires and government mandated fuel mileage better than Rafe's Festiva. There will be no new cars available worth owning. Our AMC cars will be more valuable and better appreciated than ever before.

Take one look at the sticker price and spec sheet on that chunk of junk, and you'll be saving up 12 grand for a brand new 1983 AMC Eagle. Buy an old one about to be scrapped for $500, buy a brand new stroker for 3K, a brand new disc brake rear axle for 2K, and then pay a mechanic to put it all together. A costly reman on an antique vehicle didn't use to be economical or practical, but for the cost of a new one it now is. Given the junk for sale, there is now a whole lot of motivation too.

If you don't have tools, skills, time, or patience to deal with busted old vehicles you can still justify buying an AMC Eagle now. They can't legally make cars worth owning, so more and more people will turn to restoration and rejuvenation of antique vehicles to modern standards. To this day there are more AMC Eagles in existance than people willing to pay for them to be restored. That will change.
