I first spotted this car for sale back in January. It was in British Columbia, one province west of me and about 600 kilometres (373 miles) away. I first spoke to the seller in early February, and after a few phone calls over the following weeks I sent a deposit in March.

Jared (aka Whuntmore) and I finally made the trip out there in July, and I paid the remaining balance and drove it home to Alberta. I spent a couple of weeks repairing numerous small items, then sent it out to a shop for major items like brakes, exhaust, and windshield. And of course, at the end of all that was the out of province inspection.

Finally, on September 10, all was good and I can now drive it for the remainder of the summer. This car will NOT see winter roads. It's currently rust free and I intend to keep it that way.

No, but that thread had been dragged so far off track I figured it was best to start fresh.

Plus the car isn't really much of a project at this point, other than some upgrades I plan to do using OEM parts. The first of those (alloy wheels) is already done.

Gorgeous! I prefer the wagon but that has always been my favorite color combo.

My initial purchase price was $1000, but as it currently sits I'm into it for more like $3000. The body needed nothing, but the windshield had to be replaced. It also needed all new brakes and exhaust, and the speedometer was defunct.

It originally came with whitewall tires on steel wheels. I bought new (actually used, but new to the car) tires, and I already had the alloy wheels sitting around waiting to be used. The alloys were Pick-n-Pull finds from a few years back, and many hours of effort went into the removal of corrosion and oxidation.

Future plans include new rear leaf springs, and the installations of a front skid plate, rear sway bar and/or load leveling rear suspension, rally dash gauges with tach, floor gauges, and leather wrapped sport steering wheel.

For how nice the body and vinyl looks $1000 was a steal and the other $2k seems well worth the investment!
