Well the eagle is going to see some loving from me soon again. I think it will be faster to fix than my Suburban. I just smoked the 4L60e trans in my suburban. I guess I will look in the swapping a 4L80e in it in the spring. does any one know if one from a 2500 and transfer case will swap into my 1999 1500 suburban?

Did your Carter have an electric choke?

Also, I'm currently working on putting some cheap ebay bucket seats into my Eagle for now. My plan is to just lop a set of brackets off of a parts car and use them on the new seats.

No mine had a manual choke 2100, that I swapped for one with an electric choke. As for the seats I am trying to go original, because the rest of the seats are perfect.

The choke just needs to come on the same time the engine does. It's just one single hot wire, I'm assuming 12V someone else can confirm that, so run it to the ignition and you'll be good to go. It's just one wire.

Running the wire from your ignition coil is a bad idea. It drops the voltage for starting. (been there, tried it) The original passes through the 2 prong sensor on the motor by the pressure gauge sender. (or if you have a light, it may be a 3 prong sensor switch)

My apologies. When I wired my last car I had no troubles with running it to the ignition. Also, I didn't mean directly on the coil, but from ignition on the key.

the factory wiring for the choke pull off is a relay that was closed by the oil pressure switch. engine running, relay closes, sending power to the choke heater housing. engine off, key on, no oil pressure, choke heater has no power. you CAN wire it to key on power if you like.
