I am wanting leave it factory as I want to one day use it as a survivor class show car although the thought of getting rid of all the vacuum lines is very tempting. oh and Survivor has almost every option that was available for 1983. as for the diagram i'm having about as much luck reading it as a five year old has understanding rocket science.

This may be better than the small diagram on the car.

it's not that I can't read it, it's that I can't really understand it.

Start somewhere, (ie charcoal canister), then go line by line. When you run into a problem, post it and we'll help.

I tried starting at the canister but considering when I got Survivor half the vacuum lines were disconnected or hooked up wrong I may have to start from scratch with all of the lines. :speedy:

Ive done my vacuum system from scratch before. I think it makes it easier than trying to figure out what is already there.

I removed the rubbish and re-did mine. Took it to emission for sniffer test and it passed but the NOx was a little high (before I did the NGK 2288 aka BKR6EK plugs) I did it without the EGR valve after that.

that's one of my biggest problems. I mean can figure out pretty much anything mechanical but those hoses are making me want to rip out my hair.

I am still having problems with figuring out where the vacuum lines go and I have decided to just simplify them as much as possible. so what I need now is a good easy to read diagram that will make everything work.
