your a/c needs manifold vac. line goes to your hvac control head. when hvac is selected to a/c, 12V is applied to the low side pressure switch, and then to the compressor clutch. it also has a vac switch. vac is then applied to the heater water valve. it is closed to coolant going to heater core, and turned around back to the engine. besides the colored vac lines to the 4x4, theres another vac line going into the cabin. hook that to manifold vac, and the other one coming out to the heater valve. (I don't remember the colors if there even is any. iirc mine are black.)

could you simplify that a bit more because I have an idea of what an hvac control head is but i'm not a hundred percent sure that i'm right. I also need to know where to hook the cruise controls vacuum lines to.

The hvac is a auto tech word for the heater and air conditioning controlls. The cruise control lines hook up to one of the intake manifold ports. As long as its below the carb. It dont matter which one. I am sure you know the heater controll is controlled by engine vacuum. The lever you move inside the car is a cable that goes to a vacuum switch on the heater box just above the passanger feet.
